Review: Cetaphil Dermacontrol Moisturising Lotion SPF30

Putting on sunscreen every morning is a habit that’s easy to look over because it’s just that extra step to the morning routine that ‘I thought’ wasn’t necessary. And I would be very wrong. Before I review the Cetaphil Dermacontrol Moisturising Lotion, I want to explain the type of skin I have. I relatively oily skin that tend to get bouts of cystic acne and scarring and to make matters worse, I don’t exactly taking care of my spots while they were erupting or while they were on my face. This might be a really obvious thing to others but I had recently reaslised that one of the important steps to preventing acne scarring is sun protection. Seriously! I’m kicking myself for not realising sooner. So get this. When those with skin that tans easily (i.e. my god damn olive skinned self), get a new acne spot that starts drying out any sun exposure can actually make the scarring darker. *silent scream* However, while I need sunscreen to protect my skin from acne scarring, the …

nivea fruity shine peach lip balm

Review: Nivea Fruity Shine Peach Lip Balm and Swatch

I’ve always been a big fan of the Nivea range when it comes to lip balms because they just work for me. It’s really like saying goodbye to dry lips with a lick of their balm leaving me ready for applying lipstick or wearing it on its own. In this post, I’ll be quickly reviewing the Peach flavour from Nivea’s Fruit Shine lip balm range. As this is the first one I’ve tried from this particular range I can tell you straight off the bat that these balms smell absolutely divine! Best smelling lip product I have ever used – hands down. Now when restocking lip balms I usually go for the original or moisturising balm from the Nivea range but I decided to try this Peach flavour because I love peaches I wanted a hint of colour on my lips without applying an extra product As the range’s name suggests, these lip balms give a subtle shine on your lips with its formula and the fine little glittery flecks embedded in it. When applied …

Sukin Rosehip Oil Packaging Box

Review: Sukin Rosehip Oil – Organic Rosehip Face Oil

If you’re getting to or already at the age where you need to start taking a bit more care of your skin, you might have heard of facial oils. Facial oils are usually derived from one pure ingredient or mixture of ingredients used instead of or in conjunction with your moisturising routine. Depending on the benefits of the ingredients of your facial oil, you can target various issues you might have with your skin. For this review I’m going to test out the wonderful Sukin Rosehip oil. The Sukin Rosehip oil is made of pure Rosehip oil which contains fatty acids as omega-3 and vitamin E. The benefits of Rosehip oil is in that it can help speed up the process of regenerating skin cells and damaged skin such as scars, wrinkles and stretch marks. The benefits of Rosehip oil sound very similar to Bio Oil which is another brand of skin oil. Both Rosehip oil and Bio Oil claim to reduce scarring and stretch marks in a similar way. However, since the rage of …

My Beauty Diary Face Mask Birds Nest Review

Review: My Beauty Diary Face Mask – Bird’s Nest Face Mask

I hope everyone’s had a great week so far since it is the start of silly season and Blogmas! Bring on the blog posts, feasts and sales shopping! This instalment is on the My Beauty Diary FaceΒ Mask in the Bird’s Nest version. To cut the crap, bird’s nest isn’t actually the nest that you’re imagining. It’s the nest of a sparrow made of its own saliva, Linda says nonchalantly as she’s seen enough products made from it in her time. Haha but in all seriousness it’s a type of Asian herb? medicine? that is considered to be very nutritious and good for your skin whether consumed or directly applied. As you might have noticed, most face masks catered to the Western market are the wash off kind but for the East Asian market, sheet masks are queen. Although I use both types because of their different benefits, I find sheet masks to be easier to handle. With sheet face masks you don’t have to waste extra time washing any product off or have the issue …
